RE: Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail Construction Project - CSAH 10 (Stark Rd), Harris to 410th Street, North Branch (County Project No.13-SPT-23)
The Chisago County Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail Project is ready to begin. The project was awarded earlier this month to Knife River Corporation. Construction activities are expected to begin the week of February 27, 2023.
The primary goal of the project is to construct a safe and accessible non-motorized, ten-foot-wide bituminous trail along the east side of County Road 30 in the County owned Right-of-Way from 410th Street in the City of North Branch and terminate at CSAH 10 (Stark Rd) in the City of Harris. To complete this trail extension there will be a number of construction phases; some of which include tree clearing/grubbing, adding/replacing culverts, adding/removal of construction material, grading and paving.
The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-September. County Road 30 will remain open during construction as well as driveway access to properties. In order to complete the work and maintain access please stay clear and avoid construction limits, watch and pay extra attention to all trail work signage, construction vehicles and/or equipment throughout the project limits. Proper personal protective equipment, including high visibility clothing is required for this project. There may be times when access to driveways will be limited, but we will work closely with property owners and the contractor to provide proper notification through these instances. Mail service is not anticipated to be disrupted. The normal hours of operation for this project will likely be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Some weekend days may be required as well but are not currently anticipated.
We will be posting, as needed, construction updates on this page. To receive electronic updates, please subscribe to email/text updates on Trail Construction Projects.
