Chaplain Program
About the Program
The objective of the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Program is to assist in upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity for all the men and women of the sheriff’s office, who selflessly protect and serve the community of Chisago County, and their families, as well as offer compassionate care through ministry of presence for the spiritual and emotional well being to the citizens of the Chisago County community in a time of crisis.
Chaplains of all faiths work with law enforcement personnel on a professional level by making themselves immediately available as trained and caring professionals who can assist in times of loss, confusion, depression, or grief to people in crisis situations.
The first and primary responsibility of the Chaplain is towards the members of the sheriff’s office in guidance through counseling, encouragement, and personal involvement in their daily activities and professional career as a member of the law enforcement community. The services of the Chaplain are also available to the families of personnel of the sheriff’s office.
Secondly, the Chaplain also serves to assist the citizens of Chisago County by being a liaison between the sheriff’s office and the community in times of crisis and ministry need. He/she is available to offer assistance to crime victims or family members affected by crisis incidents, as well as working as a bridge to local clergy and social service organizations. Additionally, our Chaplains participate in community events and other activities that enhance our community and build stronger relationships between the public and the sheriff’s office.
