Upon the completion of an assessment / investigation a case can either close or remain open for ongoing services. If the case remains open, it is referred to as case management.
Within child protection case management is defined as:
- A systematic process of ongoing assessment focusing on risk reduction
- Implementing services / activities, which provide for child safety
- Coordination of those services / activities
- Consultation with mental health, schools, medical providers, the county attorney, and the development of a plan to keep children safe after case closure
