[ARCHIVED] Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 Updated in Chisago County

cell virus

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) informed Chisago County Public Health of our first laboratory confirmed case on March 19th, 2020 that indicated this individual lived in our county. After further investigation MDH discovered that for reasons that are unknown to us this individual’s permanent residents is in a different county. Therefore, getting rid of that case number for Chisago County. This individual may work in our county or was staying in our county, but does not have a permanent address in Chisago County. As you will see on MDH’s website the number of confirmed cases for Chisago County, as of March 30, 2020 is 3. We received notification of 2 more confirmed cases Sunday (March 29, 2020) evening. One case is of a male in his 60’s, while the other is a female in her mid-40’s. MDH has not been able to get a hold of the male in his 60’s and due to the fact the specimen was tested in a private lab, the details provided above are all that is known at this time. The female is her mid-40’s is currently in isolation and contracted the virus from another positive COVID-19 individual that lives outside of Chisago County. MDH will be updating Public Health as more details arise on the status of the male in his 60’s. Updates will be made to this press release.
