Lower St. Croix River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan - Policy Committee Seeks Applicants
The Chisago County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants for appointment on the Lower St. Croix River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan – Policy Committee. The positions are for At-Large appointments. Chisago County needs two (2) At-Large appointees on the Policy Committee and two (2) Alternate appointees.
The purpose of the Policy Committee of the Lower St. Croix River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan (Plan) is to develop and make recommendations on annual work plans, revisions and modifications to agreements, and amendments to the Plan.
Since 2017, the Chisago County Board of Commissioners has worked together with Counties, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and Watershed Management Organizations located within the Lower St. Croix River Watershed to develop a new watershed based management plan with basin-wide priorities and goals through a One Watershed, One Plan Process. The new Lower St. Croix River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan will replace the current Chisago County Local Water Management Plan. The Policy Committee will continue the coordinated and collaborative planning, development, and implementation of the Plan and annual work plans with the participating local units of government. Policy Committee members will serve as a liaison to their respective local governing boards.
The Policy Committee and Alternate appointments end on January 2, 2023. The meetings are held at least twice annually. Special meetings are also called as necessary for implementation of the Plan.
