The Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District (LID) solicited applications for Area 5 and Area 7 (At Large) Board of Directors positions. Publication and notice of candidate filing opportunities occurred in the December 2020 issues of the Chisago County Press. The notice was distributed among area lake associations and posted on the LID website. The candidate application deadline for one Area 5 and one Area 7 (At Large) Board of Directors positions expired on December 31, 2020. VIEW a Map showing Board Member Areas (PDF). Area 5 Board of Directors Election

Area 5 is bounded on the east by County Road 24 and County Roads 24/23/91. This includes the western most portion of the Chisago Chain of Lakes watershed. Ellen, Emily, Green, Little Green, Martha, Mattson, School, and Swamp, Lakes are included in this area.

Area 7 (At Large) Board of Directors Election

Area 7 (At Large) must be owners of real property within the district boundaries or be a buyer under contract for deed of property in the District.

Absentee and In-Person Voting:

Absentee Ballots are available to any eligible voter requesting one. LINK to request online an Absentee Ballot. Eligible voters include all of the property owners residing in the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District (LID). Each property owner, including owners of more than one property, is entitled to one vote. Property owner's names must be identified on Chisago County Property Tax Records as owners of property within the District. The list of property owners residing in the District will be updated from the Chisago County records within 30 days of an election. If the property is owned by a Trust or other entity, documentation of Individual Trustees or owners must be provided prior to receiving a ballot or voting. Absentee Ballots must be delivered to the Chisago County Government Center, which is located at 313 North Main Street in Center City, MN, and placed in the drop box outside of the main entrance OR brought indoors to the Environmental Services Office, Suite 240 by 5:30 p.m. on February 1, 2021 the day of the Annual Meeting. Absentee Ballots received after 5:30 p.m. are VOID and will not be counted. In order to receive and return an Absentee Ballot by US mail it is recommended your request for a ballot be received no later than January 25, 2021. Absentee Ballots may be returned in-person up to 5:30 p.m. on the day of the election.

In-person voting will take place on Monday, February 1, 2021 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. To vote in-person proceed to the Environmental Services Office, 313 North Main Street, Suite 240, Center City, MN. NO voting will take place during the Annual Meeting which starts at 6:30 p.m.
