Chisago County Environmental Services and the Recycling Association of MN are offering FREE holiday lights recycling starting December 14, 2018 through January 11, 2019 for old, broken, and unusable light strings.
You can drop off old, broken holiday lights during the holiday season until January 11, 2019 in the lobby of the Chisago County Government Center located at 313 North Main Street in Center City or at the Chisago County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 39649 Grande Avenue in North Branch.
The lights and cords are recycled FREE of charge by working with local vocational centers that provide meaningful jobs and job training. Another great added benefit is the reduction of waste going to landfills which helps keep our air and water cleaner. We encourage you to replace the old ones with the new LED light strands, which will save energy.
