[ARCHIVED] Citizens' Academy Program Seeking Applicants

LIFE BEHIND THE BADGE.Participants in the Citizens' Academy will learn firsthand a myriad of duties officers perform in the field as well as how law enforcement service is instrumental in the community. There will be a wide variety of training topics and hands-on activities that participants will learn about that include general law enforcement duties, review of a call for service, use of force, arrests, S.W.A.T. demonstration, firearms, emergency communication, traffic stops, DWI demonstration, community policing/crime prevention, K-9 demonstration, and MORE! 

The 2019 Chisago County Citizens' Academy is open to anyone who lives or works in Chisago County, is FREE of charge, and will meet primarily on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m. starting October 1, 2019 through November 19, 2019. Program participants will meet at one of the four participating law enforcement agencies each week. You must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and no felony convictions on your record. Applicants are asked to complete an online Chisago County Citizen's Academy Application and sign a Waiver and Release of Liability form. All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.
