The Chisago County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants for appointment to vacancies on the Chisago County Board of Adjustment and the Chisago County Extension Committee. Both positions are district specific and will remain open until filled.

Board of Adjustment
Applicants are needed from District 2 (which includes: Cities of North Branch - B, Shafer and Taylors Falls; and Townships of Amador, Franconia, Sunrise, Shafer - A and Shafer - B).
The Board of Adjustment has the following powers with respect to the Chisago County Zoning Ordinance; to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance, and hears request for variances from the literal provision of this Ordinance in instances where their strict enforcement would cause undue hardship because of circumstances unique to the individual property under consideration.
Board members are appointed for a three year term. The District 2 appointment expires in 2022. The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of every month in Room 150B at the Chisago County Government Center, which is located at 313 N Main St in Center City.

Applicants are needed from District 1 (which includes: Cities of Center City and North Branch - C; and Townships of Chisago Lakes - N and Lent).
The Extension Committee has three major areas of responsibilities, as defined by state statute:
- Program development and evaluation. The committee develops an annual program of work in cooperation with the U of MN Extension Service. Assist in identifying county needs and matching or empowering county or regional staff in meeting those needs through education programming.
- Personnel. The committee members often serve on the search and interview committees to recommend suitable, qualified persons for Extension Educator positions to the Extension Dean and Director of Extension. By state statute, Extension Educators are U of MN employees. The committee also provides yearly input to the Extension Director or supervisor regarding Extension Educator performance in development and delivery of the identified programs.
- Budget Development. The committee, working with Extension, prepares an annual budget of funds needed for the maintenance, support, and expenses of the County's Extension work and submits it to the County Board for approval.
Board members are appointed for a three year term. The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m., every other month, at the Extension Office, which is located at 38814 3rd Avenue in North Branch.
