[ARCHIVED] County Seeks Vacancies on the Board of Adjustment

The Chisago County Board of Commissioners seeks two (2) applicants for appointment to vacancies on the Chisago County Board of Adjustment. The positions are district specific and will remain open until filled.

Interested citizens must submit an Application for Appointment Form to the Chisago County Clerk of Board via mail to 313 N Main St, Room 175, Center City, MN 55012 or via fax to 651-213-8876. Additional information about the positions is available by contacting Chisago County Administration at 651-213-8877.

Board of Adjustment

Applicants are needed from District 2 (which includes: Cities of North Branch - B, Shafer and Taylors Falls; and Townships of Amador, Franconia, Sunrise, Shafer - A and Shafer - B) and District 4 (which includes: Cities of Stacy and Wyoming).

The Board of Adjustment has the following powers with respect to the Chisago County Zoning Ordinance; to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance, and hears request for variances from the literal provision of this Ordinance in instances where their strict enforcement would cause undue hardship because of circumstances unique to the individual property under consideration.

Board members are appointed for a three year term. The District 2 appointment expires in 2022 and the District 4 appointment expires in 2020. The meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of every month in Room 150B at the Chisago County Government Center, which is located at 303 N Main St in Center City.
