[ARCHIVED] Fish Lake County Park Swimming Beach CLOSED for the Season

swimming beach

Fish Lake Beach is closed for the season and parks maintenance will be pulling out the Raft and Safety Rope Line with Floats Friday, September 6, 2019. We typically close Fish Lake Park beach after Labor day weekend.

In mid-August the swimming beach at Fish Lake County Park was temporarily closed due to E.Coli bacteria results. Sorry for the inconvenience, thank you for your patience and understanding!

PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISES:  Swimmers at monitored beaches should look for beach advisory signs before they go in the water. If advisory signs are posted, officials have determined there is an increased risk of getting sick and swimming and wading are not recommended.

While beach monitoring results can provide a snapshot of water quality at the beach, water conditions can change rapidly and test results are not always representative of the current water conditions. Swimmers at monitored and non-monitored beaches should always follow this advice to reduce their risk of getting sick:

  • Don't swallow the water.
  • Shower before and after swimming.
  • Avoid swimming after a rain event. Rain can wash contaminants from the land, like septic tank overflows or animal feces, into the water.
